No one can stop talking about REESE WITHERSPOON’s gorgeous new do at the Oscars. Wearing Nina Ricci, Reese’s long and swingy locks were the perfect compliment as she strolled down the red carpet looking better ever (just months post-divorce may I add)! Her extensions were first seen at the Golden Globes, several weeks before the Oscars. Clearly, Reese took very good care of her extensions because they looked fabulously natural and polished for the big night. Read on for tips on maintaining your extensions to keep them looking as good as Reese’s:

1. Do not pull too hard. Though extensions are pretty hardy and become part of your own hair when attached, they are still special and delicate.

2. Teasing is not recommended. Treat your extensions preciously and they’ll last 3 months or longer.

3. Do not use harsh products. Use gentle cleansers and styling agents made with natural ingredients.

4. Shampoo carefully using gentle wriggling motions with your fingers traveling downward with the grain of your hair – never against it.

5. When towel-drying, don’t be vigorous – just squeeze the towel against your hair.

6. Do not use conditioners, oils, and serums where the extensions are attached because they could cause the extensions to loosen and fall out. Feel free to condition the ends and the middle – just not the base. If extensions are shorter, just use your fingers coated with a bit of leave-in conditioner.

7. Before brushing, run your fingers gently through your extensions. Use only a soft-bristled brush.

8. Always tie your hair back when sleeping or exercising to keep extensions from getting too roughed up.
