To get SCARLETT JOHANSSON’s sexy up-do, prep hair first by applying mousse then blow-drying it. If your hair is stick-straight, then place rollers at the ends to give hold and a gentle wave. Next, create a side-parting and section hair from crown to ear on both sides. Twist the back sections into a low chignon, securing with a band. For the side sections, twist them back, leaving out a section at the front. Secure this section separately at the back of the head, “following its wave pattern to ensure some quaff-like volume,” says celebrity stylist Nicky Clarke.

ANNE HATHAWAY’s look has mega-volume. You too can achieve this by using a full-lift mousse. Brush hair to one side and place bobby pins down the middle at the back of the head. Next, fold the hair back onto itself, curling it in and securing with more bobby pins. Clake advises, “the higher you place the chignon, the more formal you look.”

To prevent a messy, piecey look and ensure smooth and elegant locks, finish style with a gloss-giving hairspray to control frizz.
