Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu radiates an unfussy, smart-girl kind of glamour. She appears sophisticated without "working it." Her glam always looks easy. Even when she goes for a little something outrageous, like the hairpiece, or fall, that she's wearing here, she does it with smarts, and we think she looks smashing. Follow these steps to get Lucy's glamorous look.

Hair extensions and falls are a great way to add length. Here, Lucy's fall is attached to the hair at the crown of her head. When you're buying a fall, go with human hair and match the color and texture of your natural hair. The mark of a good fall is that it lies flat against the head and looks clean, smooth and shiny so as to blend and swing into the wearer's remaining natural locks. (If you use human hair extensions, you can color them to match your hair. Dye them as you would your own hair, or have your colorist do it.)

You'll need:
Hair fall/extensions
Long hair clip
Bobby pins that match your hair color
Round brush and combs
Blow dryer

STEP 1 Shampoo and condition hair only at the ends. (Don't apply conditioner to your crown, as it will make your hair and scalp slippery.)

STEP 2 Blow-dry hair.

STEP 3 Carefully and symmetrically section off the hair in front by making a horizontal part from ear to ear, about two inches below the crown on the back of your head.

STEP 4 Comb the sectioned-off hair forward and secure it with a long hair clip. (Later, this section will be brought back down over the fall and combed, styled and arranged to blend into the fall itself, as if the fall were an extension of your hair.)

STEP 5 Form about 10 or 12 little pin curls by twisting small sections of hair and securing them with short bobby pins, about four to six to a row, in two or three rows. (Make sure bobby pins are the same color as your hair.) The pin curls will serve to take any excess bulk from your natural hair, keeping it flat under the fall, while providing a secure place to attach the fall.

STEP 6 Now you're ready to lay the fall over the original parted area at the crown of your head. Line up the top of the fall against the horizontal part you made across your hairline, pinning it to the pin curls across as you go. (If you're using a fall or hair extensions with combs, gently tease the hair at the root and affix the combs to the teased hair. The roughed-up hair helps hold the combs in place.)

STEP 7 Release the hair that you sectioned off from the crown of your head, and gently comb your natural hair over the fall.

Ashton Kutcher

With a flick of his hair, Kutcher can look like a naughty schoolboy or a sexy beast. He is, of course, both. Old for his age, yet young. As he’s so ridiculously handsome, with such good, not-too-thick, not-too-brown, not-too-chocolatey and never-too-flyaway hair, it’s hard to be critical, especially as his mother used to work in a Head & Shoulders factory.

This style works best if hair is straight with a slight wave like Ashton.

To get the look, start with a contoured shaped to fit style cut with full tapered sides and close fitted long neckline. Front is left longer for fullness and brushed to side with a part to balance profile and complement his strong facial features.

To style: Use a shaping gel, spray gel or gel mousse, blow dry or comb in place to dry naturally. When dry, brush a puff of foaming pomade or styling cream gel through hair for shape, shine and frizz control.

Hair Color: Use a semi permanent warm brown or light ash brown semi-permanent tint

Angelina Jolie

We're totally over Brangelina, but we're not over her luscious locks!

How do you get that long sexy hair that Angelina Jolie wears so well? It seems very simple and natural. However, many long hair wearers suffer from flat and limp hair that has none of the star quality look seen here. This is because the weight of the long hair often pulls it flat. Ms Jolie’s hair is always full and never flat or limp.

If this is the look you want, first have your hair trimmed into long layers that will lessen the weight at the top. Shampoo and condition your hair with body-building products. Towel dry and apply firm styling foam or glaze at the root area (close to your head) and work it outward. Blow your hair dry with whatever method gives you the most fullness. This is often by starting with your head turned upside down, drying the hair at the root area first and then working on the ends. When your hair is just damp, flip your head right side up and finish drying it. Get big loose waves in your hair by curling 6 or 7 large sections of hair with a large curling iron. Separate the waves with your fingers. To get rid of the fine, wispy texture and achieve a sexy, lived in look, use hair crème or light pomade. Put a small amount into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together vigorously. Then run your fingers through your hair several times. This will deposit a very light coating of the crème on each hair, separating it, giving it body and taking away the "too clean" appearance.

Wear your hair off your face, as Angelina Jolie often does, by rolling your bangs or front area, back with a large curling iron and then brushing it so that is smoothly blends into the hair in the back. This will provide height and fullness around your face. Use the creme or pomade or a small amount of hair gel around the hairline to keep it back. Spray with hairspray at the hairline only to add support and control.

Ms Jolie wears many shades of hair color successfully. Her hair color choices have ranged from dark chocolate brown to light bombshell blond. My favorite is dark brown with subtle highlights that brighten her face and accentuate the waves and lines of her hairstyle. These highlights may be achieved by using a light brown tint as directed on the package.
